JOB DEScription
We're hiring for this role at either the Director or Senior Director level. We'll assess the appropriate level based on the depth and breadth of your experience, with particular weight given to years of client-facing agency work, demonstrated expertise in the learning and workforce sectors, and track record managing complex client relationships. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in strategic communications and deep familiarity with the workforce development, skills and education sectors. This role will lead a portfolio of clients, create sophisticated and impactful content, and help position SINA and our clients as thought leaders, sensemakers and conveners within their fields.

Key Responsibilities and Estimated Time Breakdown
Strategic Client Leadership and Management (45%) — Lead a portfolio of high-value clients, executing on comprehensive and impactful communications strategies and exceeding client expectations. Develop and maintain strong, strategic client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring client alignment with SINA’s core focus areas. Provide strategic oversight to ensure all client work resonates and drives meaningful engagement across workforce, learning and capital ecosystems.
Senior-level Strategy and Content Development (40%) — Connect dots across workforce, education and philanthropy to identify trends and develop a POV around where the space is heading and how SINA's clients can lead through that change. Create sophisticated content tailored to diverse stakeholders and multiple channels, including but not limited to, narrative development, op-eds, insights reports, strategic messaging frameworks, social and digital owned content, convening- and event-related content, and executive thought leadership.
Team Development and Personal Growth (10%) — Continuously seek opportunities to grow personally and professionally, monitoring industry trends and identifying areas for innovation and enhancement of SINA’s market position. Mentor and help members of the SINA team develop and sharpen their communications skills. In the future, this role will manage junior staff members. Support business growth through proposal development, strategic ideation and new client engagements.
Industry Engagement and Thought Leadership (5%) — Actively engage in the workforce and learning sectors to deepen SINA’s industry expertise and presence. Represent SINA at industry events, contribute to sector-wide discussions and proactively identify opportunities for partnership and influence. Support strategic initiatives that position SINA more prominently within our industries of focus.
Requirements
Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of education, workforce development, philanthropy and/or social impact. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on results and meeting deadlines.
Experience and Education: At least seven years of experience, with a preference for a client-facing experience within an agency setting and a proven track record of success leading projects and managing client relationships. Bachelor’s degree is not required.
Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and make decisions independently.
Travel: Periodic travel (1-2 trips quarterly) for client meetings, strategic planning sessions and industry events will be required, with advance notice provided.
Personality Traits: Creative, growth-mindset, self-motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a remote environment. A commitment to excellence and leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams to achieve their best work.
